A Sunoco location in Clifton Park, NY was looking to expand their services and number of customers by adding on local deliveries of their products,
To increase sales and gain more customers. Sunoco decided to offer free deliveries to the local community on certain days of the week to attract more customers.
How do we get customers to use more of our services?
Star Studios and Agency created a flyer to highlight Sunoco’s new free delivery service. Sunoco had chosen a specific route to receive their EDDM ( Every Door Direct Mail) based on location and community demographics using the USPS EDDM website.
In order for the EDDM to have an impact there must be an offer to entice those on the selected routes to show a response. The offer given on the EDDM was free deliveries Monday through Friday 9am- 9pm pm on all products. In order for this offer to be eligible there was a $10 minimum on all orders.
Star Studios and Agency printed a 9×12 postcard. 1200 cards were mailed to the specific route selected. The EDDM was dropped off to the local post office Monday and mailed out. The recipients had the postcard delivered to their mailboxes by Thursday.
Out of 1200 postcards, X cards were redeemed. Postcards were also put on display at the convenience store resulting in an increased total postcards and responses. The response rate to the EDDM was estimated at 18%. The Sunoco at the Clifton Park, NY location experienced an increase in product sales and new customers.
Using EDDM was beneficial for Sunoco based on the services they were trying to market to the community. The use of Star Studios and Agency’s marketing services and expertise will help Sunoco’s sales and ability to attract new customers in the future.
